The granite urn, long missing from the Stark Monument, has been replicated by Rock of Ages Corporation and was installed at the Stark Gravesite on June 20, 2014.

On April 17, 2014 at the Manchester Historic Association Preservation Awards Dinner, the Friends of Stark Park were honored with a Preservation Award for the preservation of a historic site: the Stark Family Gravesite. Pat Howard and Mark Roy, with MHA Trustee Matt Kfoury receive the Preservation Award.

Patricia Howard hopes one day students will associate the phrase "Live Free or Die" with a local legend, instead of license plates. It's a vision that has helped guide the work of the Friends of Stark Park, including months of restoration work at the grave sites of Gen. John Stark and members of his family.

New Hampshire Society Sons of the American Revolution  President Doug Wood presented a check from the NH State Society and the NSSAR George Washington Endowment Fund to Pat Howard of the Friends of Stark Park for the General John Stark Gravesite Restoration Project. The GWFF matched contributions raised from NHSSAR members.From SAR magazine, Spring 2013. 


Trish Jackson, Regent of the Molly Stark Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to Robert Chase, Treasurer of the Friends of Stark Park, at the Molly Stark Chapter Annual Meeting on May 11, 2013.  The check is dedicated to the restoration of the Stark Family Gravesite. 




The new Historic Marker was installed in Stark Park on July 28, 2011. The funds for the marker came from a generous grant from the Bean Foundation.

Enjoy living history with music from the Revolution, military re-enactors and the firing of the Molly Stark Cannon


 

In addition to our Summer Concert Series, we annually have an Easter Egg hunt, celebrate General John Stark day in April, conduct viewings of movies in the park over summer, and do walking tours of the North End. View past pictures from those events
