November 11th 2015 -
UNH Durham sent 30 student volunteers on November 11th to the park for a Fall Clean Up. The 45 degree weather and rain didn’t bother this group of students. They endured the cold, wet weather and raked the entrances, gravesite and areas near the bandstand for only pizza as payment. This group was part of a volunteer effort from UNH Durham called UNH Serves, where 500 students volunteer their time on their day off from school for Veteran’s Day. Most of the group's work is done in the Seacoast area but we were lucky to have Stark Park be one of their destination sites! Emily Goupil, UNH Residence Hall Director and City Year veteran, has organized the group the past 2 years for us, as well as helped out in years past with City Year.
We also were fortunate to have Tom Kelly, owner of LawnMark Plus, an organic lawn care company, apply an organic kelp fertilizer to the area around the gravesite and Stark monument. This treatment will help boost the turf growth in the spring. Thank you Tom Kelly!! www.lawnmarkplus.com
Many thanks to our Board members Winnie and Tom S. for providing homemade sweets for the volunteers; to Kerry for organizing the day and to Stephanie, Diana, and Tom C. for coming out and raking on such a bitterly cold, wet day!

In addition to our Summer Concert Series, we annually have an Easter Egg hunt, celebrate General John Stark day in April, conduct viewings of movies in the park over summer, and do walking tours of the North End. View past pictures from those events.
